Second Chance cats are currently residing in our East Brookfield shelter or in foster homes in South Central Massachusetts. For information on our policies and fees, visit the policies page. If you are interested in adopting one of our lovely cats, please submit an adoption application. Please note that our adoption process is run mostly by our very hard working dedicated volunteers. All adoption applications are processed as quickly as possible. We have this process to ensure that our cats get the best possible home and that we can help you to find your new feline companion. Our love and dedication is to ensure that the cat, and the new loving family, have a lifelong happy match. We are always full to capacity with cats so if we do get multiple applications on a single cat and the cat your interested in gets adopted by someone ahead of you, there are many more needy cats always coming through our doors. We encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible, even if you don't see what you are looking for on our web site, because cats come in daily and your new best friend may walk through the door tomorrow. She came to the shelter when her owner became very ill and could no longer care for her. She had a tough time at the shelter and was placed into foster care where she has really begun to thrive. She has a beautiful long grey coat, absolutely LOVES to be brushed. She has learned to play fetch with her toy mice. She will chase them down when you throw them and actually bring them back to you to throw again, and again. Sadie loves to be with you all the time, she will follow you from room to room, and rub up against you to let you know she’s there. It took her some time to come out of her shell, so she’ll need someone to be patient with her, but she’s worth the wait. She has adjusted to having other cats around, but would rather be the only princess in her castle. He is calm and mild mannered. He was raised around other cats so would likely do well with others. Name: Petrie Breed: DSH/Black Sex: Neutered Male Age: 2 1/2 years Size: Medium Petrie is now our longest shelter resident. He was a little stressed when he first got here, which is normal and understandable. But now that he’s been here a while, his personality has really begun to shine. As the volunteers have played with him and gotten to know him, they’ve noticed he has a special way with the kittens here. He plays with them and chases them around, he plays hide and seek with them, he even tries to hold them down and clean them. He really is like a ‘big brother’ to all of them. Petrie is a talker as well, it’s adorable to watch him as he croons to the other cats here (especially the ladies!), and he has won the hearts of all the volunteers with his quirky personality. He would make a fantastic addition to any family solo, but if you’re considering a kitten, please consider a big brother to take home as well. Petrie is a fantastic cat alone, but twice as nice with a little one. Name: Hank Breed: DSH/Gray Sex: Neutered Male Age: 2 years Size: Medium Hank is a real man’s man.. ok so he has a soft side too. He is a medium to large size with a strong build, but don’t let that fool you. He loves to be pat and scratched, and really knows how to show his softer side. Hank is adventurous and playful, but would also love a nice lap to curl up in when he’s done exploring the ins and outs of his new castle. Hank has lived with children and other cats, so he would likely adjust to a new home with either very well. She has a sweet personality, seems curious but calm. She would make a wonderful house cat, and seems to adjust to new setting fairly quickly. She loves to be active and play, but also to sit by your side and have you lavish her with affection. She takes very quickly to new people, and loves to play with children as well. While she is quite social and affectionate, she’s a people person and even likes other cats, however she’s not a canine lover, so a house with no dogs would be best for Scarlett. Unlike her namesake from down south, our Scarlett is easy going and quite sweet. Stop by and pay her a visit, she will greet you cheerfully and we just know you will want to take her home.
