Blake |
February 3, 2012 Hi Second Chance, Blake has settled in nicely and has quickly become part of the family. He loves cuddling on the couch and going for long walks in the neighborhood and the local state parks. He hates the car but always has fun no matter where we go. Petsmart has become our second home. He has to be the most spoiled dog ever! Blake and Winston (our cat) are starting to get along and become friends. Blake has become a little superstar on Facebook. People are following his journey as we use him to advocate and educate against dog fighting, breed discrimination and BSL. He has changed our world and was definitely the best decision we ever made! We'll be seeing everyone at the shelter for your charity walk in September!! Hugs and pitty kisses. xoxo |

Jack the Cat fka Wrigley |
February 1, 2012 Hi Second Chance, We wanted to give you an update on Wrigley (now known as Jack the Cat).
He seems very happy in his new home with us and has adjusted very well. We fell in love with him so quickly, and he is as spoiled as can be with toys, treats, etc.
During the day, he likes to run around and play with his new toys. At night, we snuggle on the couch and watch TV together as a happy little family. Thanks so much for bringing us together!

Ebony |
January 31, 2012 Hi Second Chance, We had just lost our beloved indoor ten year old cat, Ashley, when a visiting house guest carelessly left a door opened late at night and she got out. We have tried everything to find her with no luck and have been "lost" and devastated with out
her. We really thought we could never get another cat. Ebony is like a miracle come true. She looks so much like Ashley except Ashley had a white tummy. She even has the same sweet personality but also has her own. We are already in love!! If Ashley shows up someday, and we hope she will, she will have a little sister. Thank you Second Chance for giving us a "Second Chance." Second Chance and the people that work there are all angels. Here is a picture of Ebony on her third day with us.

Binx |
January 30, 2012 Hi Second Chance, I just wanted to update you on Zara. Since finding out Zara is actually a boy we renamed him Binx. He adjusted very quickly and seems very happy here. He loves to cuddle almost as much as he loves to play with all his toys. He also loves to eat and even figured out how to get treats out of the bag for himself. I hope you enjoy the attached pictures. We are really
enjoying having him around. Love,
Megan, Stephen, and Binx |

Tucker fka Jack |
January 26, 2012 Hi Second Chance,
Just wanted to give you a quick update on Jack who we've named Tucker. His stitches are all gone & so is the patch on his back. Cooper (our 1st
dog - 4 yrs) and Tucker are getting alone famously, each have their own chair in our den... so Cooper has quickly shown Tucker the ropes hahaha. Here is a pic of the "boys" a few days ago. Tucker definitely gives Cooper a "run" for his money hahaha.

Harry fka Harry Potter |
January 16, 2012 Hi Second Chance, Just wanted to let you know how well "Harry" is doing... When I first met "Harry", we approached the cat area and he immediately jumped onto his door with all four paws in an attempt to get our attention, then stuck out one of his paws to touch us. Yup, that was it, he was ours. During the trip home it was evident he hated his box, and when I opened it to check on him, all he did was stand up and rest his head on my shoulder and purr. Once we got home, the box was history. "Harry" took over immediately and ran up and down our hallway stretching his little legs. He has NO fear. Our dog "Possum", did not know what to do with this little ball of energy. They have become great friends....we had another cat "Maggie" who kept "Possum" company and has since passed. These two are perfect for each other, "Harry" being the stronger of the two personalitys. He has developed his own little routine which includes stealing food from the dog's dish to play with, drinking from the dog's water bowl and sleeping between my husband and I at night. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we are enjoying "Harry" as a new addition to our family. He has brought giggles and playfulness back into the household since our "Maggie" left. And I know "Possum" is forever grateful!

Blake |
January 13, 2012 Hi Second Chance, We are thrilled to report that Blake has a wonderful home. He is already spoiled and has his own Facebook page for those that want to follow his new life. We are so happy that Blake has a happy ending to his rough start in life. We wish this for all of our pets at Second Chance. Sadly, pitbulls are the hardest to adopt out because of the tag that has been put on them as vicous dogs. Blake has given a new face to pitbulls. His owners wnat him to become an ambassador for the breed. Hopefully he will change people's minds about pitbulls and more pits will get a Second Chance. Thank you again to everyone that emailed kind words, donated to his care, and/or watched his story unfold and learned about this wonderful dog. It took many people to change this life. As the saying goes... saving one life may not change the world, but it means the world to that one life. ~ Second Chance

Stitch fka Wallie |
January 12, 2012 Hi Second Chance, We wanted to give you an update on Wallie (re-named Stitch because his ears are big for his face). He is an absolute love and he has adjusted quite well to the activity in our home. With three children ages 5-11 he always can find someone to play with or snuggle. He takes turns cuddling with everyone at bed time and is ready for play in the morning. He learned quickly where his treats are kept and is happy to show anyone where to find them. We love and enjoy him very much!

Sydney |
January 10, 2012 Hi Second Chance, On December 8th we adopted "Sidney." From the moment we saw her picture on the web site we fell in love. The week prior our 21 year old cat "Rusty" passed away and we were heartbroken. Sidney is such a love. She is everything and more that was described on the adoption web site. She is wonderful with our 13 year old blind and deaf Yorkie "Nikki." They eat together, lay on the couch together and Sidney brings all her toys to Nikki's dog bed. We are so lucky to have her. Thank you so much Second Chance for bringing us together. Bill, Martha & Nikki A. |

Brees fka Ward |
January 10, 2012 Hi Second Chance, I just wanted to share a couple of photos of our new kitten Ward-now renamed Brees, after Drew Brees! Our 2 boys were beyond excited on Christmas morning to get him! They were so stunned they were literally speechless! They still tell us everyday that he was the best gift and surprise ever! We did manage to keep him hidden until X-mas morning! The boys have had so much fun with him already! Brees takes turns all on his own who is going to sleep with at night and both the boys take care of feeding him and changing his litter. He has adjusted quite well to being with us and seems very happy to have a loving new family! The picture is of him in his favorite spot in the corner of our couch. From there he can watch for the bus to come with Shea and Lucas in the afternoon! Thank you for taking such great care of him!

Petey |
January 6, 2012 Hi Second Chance, We adopted Petey 6 years ago from Second Chance in the spring of 2005 when he was 6 months old. He is a great dog, very loving and he gets a lot of love back. Three years ago he had a malignant growth under his belly side, although it was skin cancer it was clear all around the growth, whuich was great news.
He developed two more growths, one under his belly side and a very small lump on his back side. We just got them removed at the end of October 2011 because they were malignant, we got great news that they were clear all around the growth. We cant thank you enough for all you do at the shelter and giving us such a beautiful dog. We have been thinking about calling the lady who adopted his brother Leo when we got Petey. Our family is looking forward to many more years with Petey. Thanks again,

Star fka Peanut |
January 4, 2012 Hi Second Chance, We adopted Peanut on Saturday 12/11 for our daughter's birthday and she has really complimented and completed our family! Our daughter renamed her Star and just Loves her to pieces. She is getting used to the house, the dog and from all the purring we've been hearing, it seems like she is enjoying all the attention. She is just perfect and we are all so happy.... Thank you Second Chance for making a little girl's dream come true with such a wonderful cat! In fact our friends went in a few days later and adopted Peanut/Star's brother.

Sydney |
January 2, 2012 Hi Second Chance, I wanted to give you an update on our dog Sydney, adopted last October (formerly known as Tiny). Sydney is an exceptionally sweet, loving dog. She wants nothing more than to hug and cuddle and she spends many nights curled up on the couch with me doing just that. (See attached picture of her lounging on the couch.) She is happiest on someone's lap despite the fact that she is 64 lbs now. I'm pretty sure she is my 2 year old's best friend. (See the attached picture of them hugging.) All three of my daughters just adore her. Sydney's other best friend is my parents puppy Digger. He is about 6 months younger than her but nearly as big as her. The two of them go crazy playing together. They are a riot! Sydney loves her older but smaller sister Reggie too but Digger is the one that she can really play with. Sydney, though extremely tolerant and gentle, is also protective of my family - which I appreciate. A couple months ago a bear came into our yard, within about 20 feet of me (which I was completely unaware of) and Sydney chased it away from me and up into a tree. My hero! Then I was terrified for her but she obeyed perfectly when I called her back to me. She is one amazing dog. We are grateful every day that Sydney chose us to be her family. Thank you Second Chance Animal Shelter! Happy New Year!

The kids who like to sleep in on school days... no longer have an issue getting up. My 6 year old wakes up happy and ready to go find Mittens. He is also doing so well with our dog, they quickly became friends. A little silly at times, likes to play with everything that moves and is so loving! He loves to snuggle with us too. We are so happy to have him in our home and Thank you for taking care of him the first 4 months of his life! Thank you for all you do for the animals at the Shelter!

Sandy |
December 19, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Sandy is wonderful! She has completely
adjusted to her new environment and has taken a great role as a part of our family. One of our cats, Lucy, who is the torti in the second photo with Sandy, is in love with her. She handles her well. Our other black and white cat keeps to himself. I was only able to get the photo of all 3 by using the fireplace screen as a shield to make him feel more safe. Sandy has free range of our yard with the invisible fence and was trained very quickly. She absolutely craves downtime at night. After the kids are in
bed, she claims her spot on the couch with me and my husband and tries to be an 80 lb. lap dog. She is very lovable and listens well. I am so thankful to SCAS. Especially at this time of year, my family seems more complete with her in our lives. My oldest daughter made sure that I put Sandy's picture on our Christmas card. She is very loved. Hope you have a very happy holiday season!

Mocha fka Christina |
December 15, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Mocha (aka Christina) was the little "sweet" quiet kitten, TILL WE GOT HER HOME!!!!!! She is still very sweet, but into everything. She never, never sleeps. Seriously I stayed home from work today and she played all day. She plays hide 'n' seek with me. She sleeps next to head, while purring most of the time. She is just a regular kitty enjoying her new life. We love her. I am attaching two photo's. I think you will get the picture. She is always sitting on my laptop or sleeping on it! |
|

Chewy fka Janey |
December 15, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We are happy to update you on how Chewy (fka Janey) is doing. We brought her home on November 26th, and she made herself right at home. She loves running in our fenced in yard and going for walks with my son Eric. She also is fascinated watching the birds land on our bird feeder which is attached to the living room window. She growls and yips at the birds as they come and go, and stands on her two back legs trying to reach them. (It is pretty comical to watch). She is ALWAYS ready to play! We just love her.

Bella fka Nemo |
December 5, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We picked up our kitten last night at your shelter...named her "Bella"...and she is amazing!....We recently lost two of our cats, one to sickness and the other from an unknown reason...Keira was 7 years old, and Milo was almost 14...so our family was devastated. After grieving for awhile we decided to get a friend for our last cat named Penny, who was so lonely without her friends. Even though Bella has only been living here for 24 hours she has brought nothing but smiles to our faces...even Penny! She is taking away some of the pain we have been feeling and your staff was amazing at helping us through this...enclosed is a picture of Bella with our granddaughter who, as you can see, absolutely adores her! Thank you again for all your help and for the wonderful work you do there at the shelter!...have a wonderful Holiday season!! Sincerely,
Paul and Patricia S. |

Willy fka Dewey |
December 1, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Thought you might like this picture of Dewey we picked up last week at your shelter . On the way home he decided to sit on the center console between my wife and myself . Little did I know my wife took a perfect picture and to me it looks like Dewey is driving the car with hat in perfect place! Every one I show it to can't stop laughing . By the way Dewey is no longer Dewey, it's Willy . A real love bug that loves to play !!!!

November 28, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Our new kittens are doing very well, and have adjusted well to our home. We have renamed Joey and Monicca to Simba and Nala, since they are so playful together. We are all enjoying the pitter patter of litle kitten feet around the house. They are both very playful, curious, and loveable. Thank you again,

Ned fka Kermit |
November 28, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Ned (aka Kermit at the shelter) has been a wonderful addition to our home. He's settled in nicely with his two larger sisters, Maisie and Luna. and has put on 2 pounds as predicted. We appreciate the work done at the shelter, my wife Pam, now volunteers weekly. This adoption process was easy and thorough, we know we can call if there are ever questions or concerns.
Oh, we think Ned is one of the cutest dogs ever (see the attached picture) though we may be a bit biased! Thank you for your work.

|

Camilla aka Clover |
November 28, 2011 Hi Second Chance, I am a happy little girl. I have adjusted well to my new home and have come a long way since going home with my new dad. He feeds me good and you can no longer see my ribs, he says I have put on some healthy weight. I have learned to get along great with kids, adults and other dogs. Matter of fact I now have several "cousins" that I look forward to playing with. My new dad has a home on a lake and I just love it there. I swim and have learned to fetch a stick from the lake. Some days he has to drag me out of the water. Recently I was able to discover snow and it is so much fun too. I love to run, jump and slide in it. I also just finished puppy training classes, so now I know how to sit, lay down, heal and stay. It was fun but there were days when I was more interested in playing with the other puppies than learning. I am so glad I was rescued and that the great people at Second Chance Animal Shelter took care of me while I waited to be adopted by my new dad. Life is so good now. Thank you!!
Camilla
Thanks SCAS She has been and continues to be a great dog!! Duane M. |
|

Kia aka Harrison |
November 24, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Kai/Harrison is doing so well in his new home! He loves to participate in his morning routine which includes getting the newspaper and feeding the birds. Also, he loves to watch the busy duck-airport from the edge of the boat dock. So many of those birds like to play water tag, and Harry likes to be "it". He is an expert at tossing toys in the air and catching them in his mouth, for hours! Harry's got a great friend in Abby, the family cat and Daisy, his sister Golden! He has brought so much love to the family!

Jerry aka Buddy |

Iggy |
November 22, 2011 Hi Second Chance, I wanted to thank you for bringing Iggy into my life. He is my best friend and cuddle bug, I couldn't have asked for a better addition to my little family. Every day he puts a smile on my face, and when things get
tough he is always there to comfort me and make everything better. He is a little ball of energy and joy I don't know how I have lived without. From the bottom of my heart I truly thank you for working with me and allowing him to become my best friend :) (Attached are a few pictures for you). I couldn't thank you enough for everything you do, and for all the miracles you create through your shelter. Yours Truly,

Skye |
November 21, 2011 Hi Second Chance, MY LIFE has been WONDERFUL since I found my new family. In the morning, I open my eyes and check to make sure Holly is still next to me on our pillow. Gotta wake her up for work on time. She takes me out for my social time to speak to all the dogs in the building on our daily walk. We have gotten to know one another very well. Oh, so many friends!!!! My days start off with a trip to the beach, where I chase all the ducks and seagulls off my beach!!! They know who is boss of this beach. Then it's off to get Bob his coffee and a snack for me of course. We return to the beach to watch all my doggie friends strut by. Next we are off to the dog play yards where I run and socialize again a little more. Oh, there are some hunks living here.
Well, It's nap time. In the afternoon I baby sit for Pete our spoiled parrot. He still doesn't understand that the floor space is ALL mine and he should stay on his perch! Oh, well he only has a few more tail feathers to lose. Maybe he will get it before they are all gone. He mouth gets him is trouble! He is always calling my name and then throws his food at me. Boy oh boy, I have to straighten him out.
Some days I go to work with Holly. I have a very important position at the Senior Living place where we work. I visit with all the residents and give them LOVE! The dementia residents love me the most. I can tell that they are very special people that really need me. I have my own column in the monthly newsletter. This month I am sponsoring residents making dog biscuits for our local SPCA and we are making fleece beds for all the dogs and kittens that reside there. I felt badly that they were on the cold cement and that the kitties didn't have a soft place to lay their heads like me. I watch over the Black Jack games and Bingo. Gotta watch out they don't cheat. Then it's time for my long ride home, where I get petted and loved all the way home.
More walking and running with my furry friends, chasing squirrels up the trees and getting those pesky wild turkeys back into the woods and off our front yard. Whew.... I'm really tired by now. Every day is a new experience spinkled with love, joy and just being plain old happy. Holly made me my own fleece bed and I have tons of toys. I even have a lined raincoat, Santa suit, pink sweater and so much to make me happy. IT's A DOG'S LIFE....and it sure is GOOD!!!!
Miss everyone back at Second Chance Animal Center......but life is soooooo gooood here!
Woof, Woof (Love Ya)

Jasmine |
November 18, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Maggie is doing wonderful! She is such a joy to have around and is adjusting very well in her new home! She is very playful and smart! Maggie has lots of smiles and love to give. Every where we go, she greets everyone
with hugs and kisses and craves any attention! She doesn't like getting into the truck, but once we pick her up and put her in, she can not wait to
GO! Maggie loves driving around and smelling the fresh breezes. She is working on learning to sit, stay and roll over. Maggie is quite the cuddle-bug and a jokester! She likes to pull every toy out of her toy box and strategically place them around the house, but beware- if she notices you picked them up, she is right back to her toy box to retrieve them! She is the perfect addition to our family and we don't know what we would do without her now! We love her so much and we are so glad we chose to adopt! Maggie sends her love and she wants you to know, she couldn't be happier in her forever home. All our Love,
Maggie and The Marlows |

Cleopatra |
November 18, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Cleopatra is doing very well. She and Charlie play and have fun daily. I feel she is a little nervous, sometimes, but time and attention will take care of that eventually. She has adjusted well. The thing that I have noticed most about Cleopatra, is that she is a licker. As soon as you touch her, she wants to lick you, and if any skin is exposed while we are in bed, she starts licking and doesn't want to stop. So, we cover up! I don't think there is a lose hair on her body. We love her, and we are happy to have her. Things are going fine. Here is a picture of our two girls. Cleopatra is the black and white cat. All is well!!! |

November 18, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Oliver Meatball (F.K.A Weanie) is doing great. It took only a few days to get him adjusted, he would only go up 4 stairs at first but after 2 nights of coaxing with cookies he now goes up and down the stairs with no problems on his own. We are now just working on getting in the car, he seems to be afraid to go in but if I pick him up and put him in he is ok. He loves to wrestle with his little sister Holly Noodles, eating and taking lots of naps on the couch. He never lets me out of his site for more than 2 seconds and is a good snuggle buddy. The best decision I ever made was adopting him. He has made my home happy again after losing my other Boston terrier in June. I even notice a difference in Holly Noodles since he has arrived, she is much happier now that she has a friend to play with again. I attached a picture of him and his sister sleeping on the couch after watching me shovel the Halloween storm snow. I guess watching from the comforts on a warm home makes them pretty tired LOL. Thank you!

Karen |
November 18, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We are all extremely happy with Karen. She seemed to be right at home just after a week. we renamed her Lily. My 6 year old actually renamed her. She just loves sitting on the bed with the boys. She goes into their rooms at night after they go to bed. It feels like she is checking in on them. She is so playful and so very sweet. We are lucky to have her!

Marmalade |
November 18, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Marmalade is adjusting well. He is growing quickly and very playful. No issues that I did not expect; we enjoy him a lot. He runs to greet us when we get home and has recently learned to climb on everything. Thankfully, his fascination with electrical cords has waned. Now, if we could just keep him out of the chains on the cuckoo clock....Marmalade just can't resist these if we aren't watching, so he isn't allowed the run of that room unsupervised. His nipping during playtime is better. Thanks.

Bailey |
November 17, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Just writing in to let you all know that Bailey is doing very well in his new home. He has gained some much needed weight and continues to get stronger all the time. Bailey loves to go for hikes in the woods, but does just as well on the rail trail. He is starting to socialize better with other dogs and our cat, although he is still very shy around other animals. Bailey and our son have become fast friends, and Bailey takes care to be gentle around him (our son is only thirteen months old). The suggestion of the gentle leader for walks was right on, because as soon as we started using one it was like walking a different dog. And consequently when we take him out to potty and don't use the gentle leader he does not tug nearly as much as he used to do. Ones of the first things that I noticed was how quickly Bailey took us on as his family, almost right from the start he became protective and loyal. I definitely think that Bailey is the right dog for us and I think he would agree.

Jess |
November 17, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Jess is doing great! I love having her, and she's been having a lot of fun. She's very playful, energetic and extremely smart - I taught her to fetch in only a couple sessions, and on at least one occasion she's opened a door by herself. I've attached a few pictures in case you want to include her in Happy Endings. Have a great day,

Molly fka Blondie |
November 17, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We are writing to update you on Molly (formerly Blondie). She is doing extremely well. We have had only one "accident" in the past month so she is almost totally housebroken. We also took Molly to basic obedience class. She is easily distracted (she is a lab after all) but her tricks are coming along nicely. She is doing really well on the leash and now we can take her on nice long walks. Within the first week, Molly already figured out that our house would be her forever home and she took over the couch for her marathon nap sessions. She goes to doggie daycare three days a week and it is so refreshing to see her playing with the other dogs. We would like to thank you for helping to care for the dogs from the Vermont puppy mill seizure. We are so lucky to have Molly in our lives and she brings us so much joy each and every day.

Smokey and Lacey
fka Callie and Anika |
November 17, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We adopted 2 sisters on Oct. 26th. On the left is Smokey (formerly Callie) and on the right is Lacey (formerly Anika). They are the sweetest, happiest, funniest, adorable kittens that anyone could ask for. The minute you touch them, they start purring and have so much love to give. They are very close sisters and are always taking care of each other. We are so thankful to have these 2 furry friends to join our family. We thank you for so much joy they give to us. November 17, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Our kitten has adjusted well. Her name is now Isabelle, "Bella" for short. (She was Oreo at the shelter). I have attached a photo for you if you'd like to add her to the "Happy Endings" page on your site. It was our pleasure to help out a pet in need! Wish we could've taken more than one! :) Thanks so much!

Robbie and Ellen |
November 16, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Robbie and Ellen came to Second Chance Animal Shelter in mid March from the H.S.U.S. The people in the Animal Care Program at Devereux Foundation were offered the great opportunity to be able to foster these special dogs.
Coming from a home of abuse and severe neglect, these dogs deserved the best of care we had to offer. The students at the Devereux School, participating in the Animal Care Program, grew to love these animals.
Robbie and Ellen were both treated for heartworm. Being a very delicate process the students did a wonderful job caring for these animals. When Ellen first arrived, she would shake like a leaf and hide in the back of her crate, afraid of the world. Ellen now walks and plays with confidence. She realizes that people aren’t so bad after all. Robbie is a mischievous little boy who is always willing to please. He LOVES the attention he receives from the students and staff. We are very happy with the decision we made to adopt Ellen and Robbie. Some of our plans for the dogs include having Ellen and Robbie present while students read and do their work in the classrooms. They help to create a therapeutic environment for the kids at Devereux. Thank you Second Chance for giving us the opportunity to have these wonderful animals.

Toby |
November 15, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We adopted Toby, a 4 yr old Border Collie/ Lab mix, from you in 2004. He had been badly treated by his previous owner.... underweight, heartworm +, and Lyme +. Your staff was very concerned about him. (I hope some are still there, so they can get this update.) You had him at your facility from Aug to Dec, working him back to health. We adopted him in early Dec. He instantly became a wonderfull part of our family, and still is to this day. Of course, he is totally spoiled. At 11/12 yrs old, he is healthy, and, although he is slowing down a bit, is still active for his age. We moved to TN in 2009, which has given him milder winters and more options for various walks (there are many parks and trails near our home here that he enjoys walking). He camps and hikes with us. I have attached a recent
picture of him. He has been a wonderful addition to our family, and fits in well in his "forever home". I just wanted to update you, and let you know that he is still doing very well. Thank-you again for giving us the opportunity to add him to our family!

Tobey fka Smiley |
November 15, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Smiley..now known as Tobey, is doing so well.He has adjusted wonderfully to the family and has made good friends w/ our chihuaua Lacey. He likes having a friend to keep him busy,,Tobey will hide around the corner and when Lacey walks by he'll pounce on her :) sooo funny!! They play so well together. He loves to be outside and chase leaves around the yard and he is a very good tree climber!! He comes in when called so he's also a good listener. Tobey is a very mischievous kitty so we have to keep an eye on him and be careful not to leave food lying around! He not only eats his own,but tries to eat the dogs food as well! He tries to sneak into the cabinets and the fridge when opened also. Tobey snuggles with us in our bed at night along with Lacey, they sleep curled up next to each other.During the day his sleeping spot is in my sons beyblade arena..LOL We love Tobey soooo much and are so happy to have him as part of our family!!!

Diesel |
November 8, 2011 Hi Second Chance, I am still with my family, the Fishers and living in Ashland. This year I sent my best friend off to college and have been hanging around with Dad a lot - he needs frequent walks so I am kept pretty busy. I am fully recovered now after tearing my ACL (chasing that dang rabbit) and feel even better than before. We will be at the wine and beer tasting to catch up and offer some appreciation back for all the wonderful things you have brought
to our family. Luv,

Harley Girl and Reggie |
October 27, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Harley Girl and Reggie are two peas in a pod! Harley follows Reggie everywhere and he takes care of her. He cleans her and even tries grooming me on the head! Reggie is extremely vocal, he talks to us all the time, so much that Harley has now started to squeak in attempt to talk like him. We love them so much and couldn't imagine having our family without them. Thank you so much!

Lilly and Linda |
October 19, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Writing to report that sisters Sam and Lilly (formerly Lilly and Linda) are doing well and are a welcome part of the family. Sam is the gentler soul, with big purrs and a nose for food. Lilly is our outgoing “puppy cat” who has begun to follow us around the house. They are excellent playmates while we are away during the day. And at night they enjoy hanging out with the family. Our seven year old daughter is very happy with them – declaring them the cutest kittens in the world.

Lisa |
October 18, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Lisa is now a very energetic and friendly kitten! She loves to snuggle and
especially at night when she gets to sleep in our bed! She loves to run around the apartment and loves to play. She is a little mischievous when it comes to her treats! She finds it funny to try to knock over her treat jar and break into it. She loves being at our home and we love having her, she is often refered to as "our daughter".

Frida (fka Courtney) |
October 6, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We just wanted to let everyone know how Courtney was doing. First off we renamed her Frida because we wanted a strong and beautiful name for our strong and beautiful girl. She is already recognizing her name and has this adorable butt wiggle when we call her. Frida is wonderful with our girls and doesn't understand why the cats don't want to play ball with her. She loves playing fetch in the hallway and seems to finally be finding all of her puppy energy. When we brought her home she was tired, she slept, ate and
stretched. Lots of stretching. She has done mini hikes with us but seems to be ready for more now which is so exciting. We are still working on perfecting outside to potty but she is getting so much better now that she has found her spot deep in the woods with us. Luckily she picked an area none of the kids play in. She has also rediscovered her love of chewing, so we are working on redirecting with that and she is so happy as long as there is something to chew. Oh and she also got taller. when standing on her hind legs we noticed a couple more inches. Now she stays busy exploring all the
new things she can reach now. : ) Honestly I couldn't imagine a better dog for our family, she fits right in and is so loving with everyone she meets.
I attached two pictures that aren't the best quality but you can see how she enjoys cuddling up with Joe after work. She spends the day with me and the
evening cuddling on the couch making sure she can reach both of us. I'll send along better pictures when I can but I wanted to let you know she was
settling in well. Thanks for letting me know about them. Thank you even more for everything you do and letting Frida join our family.

Big Boy and Grey Girl |
October 5, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Big Boy and Grey Girl are doing great. We couldn’t imagine them living anywhere else. They adapted very well to their brothers and sisters leaving when we were done fostering them all. They are both very adventurous. Big Boy loves to surprise attack your feet and then snuggle with you and then attack again. Grey Girl is an expert at hiding until she is ready to be found. They get along great with our dogs, Bruno and Yoda. Grey Girl enjoys snuggling with Yoda, our French bulldog. They also like to cuddle with Corbin, our 6 yr old, at bed time (once their done wrestling). When we get up in the morning they are busy playing and waiting for us. When it is time to eat Big Boy meows from the time he sees the can, all the way up the stairs until the food is in the bowl. Thank you for the opportunity to foster Karen and her kittens and to be able to expand our family with the 2 kittens.

Pumpkin and Spice |
October 3, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Pumpkin and Spice have settled in to their new home quite nicely! We decided to keep their names because they suited them so well. I'm so happy we decided to take both of them, because they have so much fun together! They certainly act like sisters - one minute they are rolling around on the floor batting at one another, and the next they are cuddled up on the couch resting peacefully (as in the attached photos). They are such curious little creatures, and it's always entertaining to watch them explore! Pumpkin and Spice are a great addition to our family; thank you, Second Chance!

Bailey |
September 29, 2011 Hi Second Chance, It has been more than two years since I adopted Bailey (aka Zoey) from your shelter. Bailey was a quiet puppy that was afraid to walk up a flight of stairs. She would often hide in her crate. I had to coax her out with treats the first few times before she became comfortable with her new home. Today, she has become quite the canine athlete. She participates in canine agility and also performs tricks; her favorite is to roll over on command. She is a smart dog that loves to perform. She has a lot of energy and we bike together in the woods almost every weekend. She loves to run! She has changed so much since that first day I brought her home.Bailey is not the only one who has changed, however. Training Bailey has provided me with a focus that was missing from my life. As a team, we have learned new things together. She has truly become an integral part of my world.Because of her, I have met so many great people and had many wonderful adventures.I didn't save her the day that I brought her home from the animal shelter, she saved me! Thank you Second Chance.

Miss Pancake |
September 27, 2011 Just writing to give you an update on Miss Pancake. Since leaving the shelter she has gone from little orphan doggy to hard working family member. Miss Pancake must kiss every member of the family first thing in the morning, she will cry if she misses someone and not be happy until she hasn't gotten all five of us. She patrols the house and protects us from the evil printer and dreaded vaccuum. She works very hard to make sure we all get equal lap time while still maintaining a vigorous nap schedule. We are having some house training bumps and she has a wicked love of tissues but when she looks at you with one fang hanging out it is hard to keep her on the naughty list. She is a welcome addition to our family and we are thrilled to have her. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to make these relationships possible.

Thanks for checking in - Cider (prev known as Felicity) as doing very well. She's getting along great with the other 3 cats, being a good kitty and using her scratching posts as she should, and growing like a weed! It's so funny to watch her imitate the older cats - she's a fast learner! Here is a picture of Cider with Maya (in the box), another black kitty we previously adopted from Second Chance about 3 years ago. Thank you!

 Binx (fka Toby)
|
September 19, 2011 Binx (FKA Toby) is doing great! He might be the most loved cat on the planet. He loves to play with his toys and things that have been designated as his toys such as TP rolls, a water bottle, a wiffle ball and a cardboard box. He sleeps with us through the night (at the top of Mommy's head) and follows us around like a little orange shadow. We jokingly call him Mr. Selfish since he hates it when we aren't paying attention to him. He will sit on whatever we are using, book, phone, computer, anything and if we are working in the kitchen he will cry and cry at our feet because he can't reach the counter and isn't being included. We love Binx very much and are so happy to have him in our family!

 Clarence (fka Stripes)
|
September 19, 2011 Greetings from Clarence (formerly "Stripes")!
I have adjusted very well to my new family. The six-year-old has become my new best friend. The two old people aren't too bad either! I get plenty of attention from all of them. They feed me very well and they know how I love to look out the window at the bird feeder, so they make sure to leave the blind up for me so I can do some serious bird watching. The kid keeps me entertained with lots of play mice and balls for me to chase. As much as I enjoyed my stay at Second Chance, I'm "over-the-moon" happy in my new home and prove it with lots of purrs and attention for my owners and they certainly reciprocate the love! I love to end the day all cuddled up in bed with my new family.I've attached a few pics of myself in my new digs. Take care and thanks again for all you did for me while I was with you! Love,

 Prairie (fka Alison)
|
September 19, 2011 Prairie, (aka: Alison) is quickly fitting into our family. Yesterday we introduced her to the "doggie door" and with lots of encouragement and LOTS of treats, she was going in and out by herself. We're keeping her activity level low until she's recovered from the operation and continuing the daily meds until gone. She has a terrific appetite and energy enough to power a small car! She sits nicely when it's treat time and cuddles when it's nap time. She such a great dog! We'll keep you posted on her progress.
Sincerely,
Marc and Lisa |

 Ruckus (fka Todd)
|
September 9, 2011 Ruckus (fka Todd) has been fantastic! He is the sweetest boy, always ready for a snuggle. He settled in pretty quickly, it seemed like he had been with us for years. He loves to play and run around causing quite the "Ruckus" when he does. Our family had a wonderful experience with Second Chance and we hope all the great animals come through your doors find the loving homes they deserve. Thanks for doing all you can for our furry
friends. |

Lightning and Oreo (fka Simon and Garfunkel) |
September 5, 2011 Lightning and Oreo (fka Simon and Garfunkel) are enjoying their new home very much. I'm so glad we adopted these adorable brothers together because they have been very happy and seemed comfortable with us from the start. They are full of energy and very curious, always finding something new to explore here. They both purr so loud and are full of love. Lighting loves to lick us when we pet him! We are so glad that Lightning and Oreo are a part of our family!

Romeo |
September 5, 2011 Romeo has adjusted very well to our home. His disposition is great; he loves to swim with the kids, run around, fetch, wrestle with my husband, play and run with my in-laws dogs, go for walks, ride in the car, walk through Petco and receive compliments, watch the guinea pigs, rub noses with our bunny, jump on the girls bed (to give kisses at night), follow me everywhere and snuggle. His training went very well (we have established a routine and he is adhering to commands). Romeo is very much loved by our entire family!! Thank You,

Jenna |
September 5, 2011 Jenna has adjusted great! We recently went on a two week vacation and she had so much fun going kayaking and playing out doors. Jenna likes to take walks and LOVES cuddling. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals - she has a stuffed monkey toy that she adores. Jenna is a very smart dog and learns commands quickly. My family has said over and over how awesome a dog she is - and I wholeheartedly agree!! Thank you, Second Chance, for giving me the opportunity to own this wonderful dog!

Lucy |
September 2, 2011 We adopted Lucy when she was 4 months old and she just turned 3 on March 19th. She is a Siamese mix and her lighter coat darkened up and is just gorgeous. She still has those beautiful blue eyes and striped front legs that captivated my attention when I first saw her at the shelter. We love her to pieces and call her our Lucy lovebug. Here she is in one of her favorite lounging positions : )

Priya (fka Poppey) |
August 17, 2011 It's Poppey! My Mom and Dad changed my name to Priya. It means
beautiful and free! I was a little nervous here at first being away from all my friends, but now I just love my new home! I'm so spoiled! They have a big bathtub I love to sleep in, and when they go to bed, I sneak in and nibble on their toes! They had no idea how much energy I have, but luckily they play with me until I'm all tuckered out! I love to watch TV with Dad after he gets home from work too. Mom feeds me the best food - I always lick the plate clean! She thought she could hide the treats on top of the fridge... But I found 'em! I'll check in with everyone again soon! Ta Ta For Now! Love,
Priya |

Ivan |
August 14, 2011 Hi Second Chance, I kept the name because it just fits him so well. Depending on the day he lives up to Ivan the Great or Ivan the Terrible, usually the Great though! He is the most lovable, fluffiest, little kitty and he follows me wherever I go. He loves his little mousey toys and I always find them collected in his cat bed where he likes to relax. At night he sleeps around my neck or on my head!!! I can always find him in the oddest positions sleeping! He greets me at the door when I come home and has the longest meow I’ve ever heard – too cute!! Ivan has brought me so much joy and I thank you, Second Chance Animal Shelter for him.

Carly |
August 12, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We love love love Carly. I call her the "happiest kitty in the land". All she does is purr all day long. She loves her kitty tree best in our house and is a great traveller in our car. We have taken her to Maine with us three times already and she has been perfect. We will be looking for a brother or sister for her in the fall. Thank you,

Jack (fka Geno) |
August 11, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Geno (now Jack), has adapted perfectly to his new home. He is very gentle and playful, and loves to "terrorize" our older cat, Teika. We were hesitant at first about introducing them to each other, but they get along very well. Jack purrs non-stop and loves being around people. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give him a new home! Attached is a photo of Jack, we would love for him to be on the Happy Endings webpage! Sincerely,

Spree |
August 10, 2011 Hi Second Chance, I am not a professional photographer by any means so the picture does not tell the whole story. After dealing with many other big guys like my border collies and aussies, spree is a gem. He did exactly what we thought would happen. The littlest guy took over.We both think it's funny how all the big guys like him. They watch him, help him adjust and only four days since he came home with us, he is definitely a member of this, his pack. I find this so amazing. He is incredibly smart and it shows. Even the eldest, our two 15 + YEAR OLD BC's, took to him from day one. It's like he has always been here. I want to thank everyone whom we dealt with at the shelter from both of us. I really wish you all could see him in his forever home. He is the perfect fit. I tell everyone that he is the "twig amongst the tree's" in his new home. Attached is a picture that say's it all. Leave me alone I am now comfortable and happy! |

Lexxi (aka Valentine) |
August 10, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Lexxi (aka Valentine) has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is now 6 months old and has finished teething. She is sweet and cuddly, she likes to have her long ears scratched. She loves soft blankets, playing ball, going for walks and swimming but her most favorite thing is to play with her "brother's" ears (our mini-schnauzer mix) and drive him crazy so he chases her around. We are so lucky to have her with us. Thanks Second Chance!

Zeke |
August 8, 2011 Hi Second Chance, It has been a little over a weeks since our family adopted Zeke and I wanted to send you an update and thank you so very much for the opportunity to adopt Zeke and for taking such excellent care of him until we found him! I wanted to say that we were impressed with Zeke the moment we walked into the kennel area and even though he was very excited to see you and get a walk, he was the only dog not barking. I thought that if he wasn't barking in that scenario, we really were about to adopt just about the best dog there is! I soon came to learn how true that was. He enjoyed the 2 hour car ride back to our home in Mattapoisett and we were thrilled because we were hoping for a dog who enjoys the car. Zeke not only enjoys the car, he craves it!
His first weekend with his was filled with a lot of activity and exhaustion! We took him on many walks and also took him to a local dog park. It was there where I experimented with Zeke off leash. I was astonished with how excellent he was. He never ran off, he stayed within our vision and always came when called. After seeing how well he did at the dog park, I decided to tempt fate and see if he could actually be off leash in our yard. Much to my surprise, amazement and totally thrill, he did wonderfully and continues to. Whenever he goes into the neighbors yard or toward the front of the house and street, a quick call of his name stops him in his tracks and he comes right back! We have a lot of wild life as our yard abuts a conservation land. He does chase the bunnies off, but still never goes too far! (the bunnies, squirrels and chipmunks are a little upset over this new development!) When we take him on walks, he does not chase cars, people, dogs or bikes which is virtually essential in our neighborhood as it is filled with summer vacationers who are all out running, walking, walking their dogs, etc. He is so very well behaved, it's amazing! And, true to what we saw when we met him, he very rarely barks. Usually it's to get out attention because he wants to play! wow! I am in love! We took Zeke to the ocean which is right down the street from us and he was hesitant at first but once he got his feet wet, his true lab nature came out.
So, we soon learned that we had indeed adopted the perfect dog for our family. The only one problem Zeke seemed to have was being on a leash. We barely managed him on the gentle leader when we walked him at the shelter and when we got home, we just quickly put on a regular leash to get him in the house and we soon discovered how very awful that was! While we did purchase a gentle leader, I was determined to get him to walk correctly on leash on a structured walk. I am very happy and proud to say that after just one week, Zeke is about 85% there!! We are actually using the leash we arrived at the shelter with and were advised against using. This picture was indeed taken during a full walk with him and there is slack in the leash! He is an absolute love to our entire family. He instinctively knows just how to play with each of us. He is very smart and adapts so easily. The funny thing is, while he was great at the beginning with his crate, he is not so eager to go into his crate now! He has enjoyed a little too much freedom, I think! With much thanks and appreciation,

Rose and Daisy
(fka Laverne and Shirley) |
August 4, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Two puff balls called out to us from their cage at Second Chance when we went looking to expand our family. Little balls of mulitcoluored fur with eyes begged us to give them a forever home. We fostered to adopt them as they were too young to be spayed/neutered and we couldn’t leave them out of our lives for the two weeks it would take them to grow. They seemed to grow almost right away and we soon found out why. They were Maine Coon Cats. We named them Rose after my husbands favourite flower and Daisy after mine. Rose has become my husbands companion and Daisy mine. How could they have figured that out. Our other cats have accepted them though our 13 year old calico, Lenore, calls them Grrr and Hiss. They spend their days playing with their wacky mice and running from one corner of our log home to the others sounding like cattle not cats. Whoever wrote “fog creeps in on cat’s paws” did not have coon cats. They have become favoutite playmates to our new grandson Will who loves to touch their fur and smiles whenever they come to him. All three play with Will’s toys and sometimes all three ply with cat toys. They are incredibly gentle with the baby. Our lives have been enriched by their cuddling, purring and antics. As they grow they grow closer to our hearts.

Riley (fka French Fry)

Max (fka Charles) |
July 25, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Riley (f/k/a French Fry) is doing wonderfully in her new home. From day one, she established herself as queen of the house by putting our dog Max in his place. (Max, f/k/a Charles, a golden retriever/german shepherd mix, was adopted by us from SCAS a few years ago and is the best dog I've ever had!) Max and Riley are the best of friends now - Max even lets her play with his tail and ears!
Every morning, Riley greets me with a purr and jumps up to cuddle. She is a very affectionate kitten, and loves to be held and carried. She loves to play with her mice, and especially loves the mouse on a stick we bought at the shelter.
Riley seems to be the perfect cat for our family, and we are very grateful to SCAS for saving her. Our animals bring us much joy and I can't imagine a home without them. Thank you!

Madam Trash Heap (fka Susie) |
July 21, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We are writing to update you on our new kitten. We adopted Madame Trash Heap (named after my favorite character from Fraggle Rock, fka "Susie") about a month ago, and we have fallen in love with her! She loves to play fetch and to cuddle every chance she gets. She is the happiest kitten, never stops purring! She loves her big brother Barley, and even though it took him a little while to warm up to her, now he loves her too! Thank you for the wonderful new addition to our family!

Maui (fka Breeze)

Kona (fka Pizazz) |
July 20, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We adopted "Breeze" (since renamed Maui). She is a little spit fire. Maui explored every inch of our home and made herself comfortable. She is the first kitten I have had that will actually play fetch. Watching her run about is a hoot because of her double paws in the front and triple paws in the back. Her paws are massive compared to the rest of her body. We know she will eventually grow into her paws. One habit we hope to kick with Maui is her need to lick and poke us at 3am. Maui is one of the most patient kittens. She loves to play with our 2 year old son, who discovered the game of fetch with her.
I also would like to give you an update on our other cat we adopted in January 2003. She was known as Pizazz whom we have renamed Kona. It took a bit of time for Kona to warm up to Maui who wanted to be best friends immediately. A month later, Kona is chasing Maui and vice versa. They play together all day an all night long. Maui is a great addition to our family and Kona is happy to have a friend once more. Thank you,
Andrea |

Bo (fka Stuart) |
July 20, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We love our new kitty, Stuart. We renamed him "Bo". He is amazing and bring so much joy to our family. He is very lovable and always wants to be held. He loves attention and purrs very loudly. For example, he is sitting on my lap right now as I am writing this. Even when he does something wrong (he loves to eat people food and we don't let them yet), I still can't be mad at him because he's too cute. I love him! This is definitely a happy ending for all involved. Even our 6 year old cat, Button is warming up to him...they even eat from the same bowl together now. I have attached a photo! Thank you kindly for your services,

Zeus (fka Tater Tot) |
July 6, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Tater tot, now Zeus, is doing great in his new home! This voiceferous cat always has to be in a room with someone. If not, he'll meow his godly meow until someone comes and picks him up and gives him all the attention in the world. Zeus is constantly playing, and never taking a mid-day-nap. He decided it's best to just nap all at once like the family, so he likes to sleep with someone at night for about 10 hours. We've had him for about a week now, and with everyday we love him more and more! Thank you so much for holding onto him until we could bring him to his true home. With much thanks,

Cailey (fka Abigail) |
July 6, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Abigail, who is now named Cailey, is doing very well. Adjusted very nicely into our home. She's the princess of the house now. She loves listening to music. I'll start playing my guitar and she'd come and sit right next to me and listen to me play. We love her so much. And she's doing fine. I've attached a photo of her. Thanks so much for giving us her. |

Brewster (fka Shelly) |
July 6, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Brewster (f.k.a. Shelley) has adjusted to our household very well. He is super cuddley and as soon as you sit down he is on your lap, purring like crazy. Even though he is small he let our other three cats know who was boss right away! He has brought the playful kitten side out of them all. He is a great addition to our family and we thank you very much for our wonderful little Brewster. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the animals in our community. Sincerely,
The Carleton Family |

Drea (fka Mellie) |
June 28, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Mellie is doing awesome! We renamed her Drea (Dray-uh), its Greek and it means warrior. We've already take her down to our beach rights 3 times, she loves chasing her own splashes:-) She is eating and behaving very well, she sleeps on her bed under Damo's bunkbed from 9pm-7am, probably because she's been going on 3-4 walks a day.:-) She is the perfect energy dog for us. Thank you for all the help and advice! Our family feels complete with Drea a part of it! Thanks again,

Tide |
June 22, 2011 Hi Second Chance, I wanted to give you an update on Tide. In the few short weeks I have had him, Tide has become almost inseparable from me. Hes a very loving dog that has gotten along with everybody who has met him. He enjoys taking a nice long walk every morning around Fall River and really enjoys going swimming during the hot days we've had recently. He's a great dog that has had a huge impact on my life (in a good way).

Tuukka (fka Gypsy) |
June 20, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Tuukka (Gypsy) is the highlight of our lives. We are wearing through sneakers at a marathoner's pace with her. The vet told us that she had had some sort of accident a while back and she has a bone-spur on her left hind leg. That has been quite evident during some of the recent storms, but we have her on salmon oil and that seems to help her when the barometric pressure is high. She has started to play with toys (outside only, but at least we know she is playing) which is a HUGE step as she wouldn't touch them if they were in the house. We finally have got her sleeping on a piece of carpet that we put on the floor, but we are still working towards getting her on the nice fluffy dog bed we got her. She's VERY well potty-trained and has no had any accidents in the house. She loves to clean the cats and has just been such an added joy to our lives. |

Busy (fka Eva) |
June 19, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Eva is known at her new home as Busy, that she is! She has fit right in with her 'big sister' ShelBJoy an 8 year old Westie. They enjoy going on walks with mom, chasing the bunnies and chip monks in our yard. She traveled well to Philadelphia to celebrate Memorial day and meat some more family. Everyone just loves her. She is becoming the 'little greeter' of the neighborhood. She runs up to say 'Hi I'm Busy.. who are you'? It doesn't matter if it is a Big dog, baby or the neighborhood cat. It is a sight to see a West Highland White Terrier and a Norfolk Terrier rolling in the street playing with a brown and white cat.!! Thanks for finding the perfect home for all of us,
Susan, ShelB, and Busy |

Reno |
June 19, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Reno is doing very well. As you can see in the attached picture he is looking very relaxed! When we first brought him home, he was very timid, especially of men. He has really come so far in a short time, at first he would not allow himself to "feel cornered" in anyway, he didn't like us coming too close at all. Now, he comes up to us and kind of falls against us for us to pet him, he loves to give kisses and he will allow us to sit with him on the floor as he rolls over for us to scratch his belly, something he would have never done when we first got him. People that come to the house for the first time have to realize that he has to come to them on his terms, which everyone has been fine with.
I wish we knew more of his history, we know he is very afraid of thunderstorms, but he either goes in his crate or on my son's bed and seems to have found his spot. He is a very good watchdog, he LOVES to be outside and either lay in the grass or go crazy chasing his basketballs. We are so happy that we adopted him, he is a great addition to our family, we love him so much. He loves his toys and can really get playing and jumping around, its really comical to watch.
He is a very intelligent dog, we are happy to give him a loving home and now that he is really coming around and doesn't seem afraid or timid with us makes us feel that he trusts us now. I wish everyone could know the feeling you get when you give an animal a home when they didn't have one before.

Jack (fka Aaron) |
June 15, 2011 Hi Second Chance, We named him Jack. He is the best kitten I have ever owned. He loves everybody. He isn't afraid ever, like most kittens in a new house. He acts more like a dog. We love him very much. He doesn't like to be alone so he follows us from room to room. He even made peace with our large dog. They get along great. Thanks!

Topper (fka Eve) |
June 15, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Kitty is doing well. Her new name is *Topper* because she likes to be on top of EVERYTHING most of the time. She's a real sweetie, loving, calm, playful and even comes when you call her by name! Many thanks to the foster parent who looked after her and her sibs since birth. That foster program is a wonderful idea, I think it made a real difference in the way this kitty sees people. Here is a photo from last week. She always wants to be up on something. We were redoing our bathroom and she was very much interested. Likes to be with us wherever we are. We're very happy with our new kitty. Thanks again,

Juno (fka Downy) |
June 14, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Just wanted to update you on Juno (fka Downy). She has fit in wonderfully
in our home and we are so happy to have her! She loves to play with the many toys she has aquired in the short time she's been here, but her favorite thing is to cuddle and get belly rubs! She is a great car rider and goes with us everywhere. She is bringing a lot of joy into our lives and we love her very much!

Duncan (aka Marie) |
June 14, 2011 Hi Second Chance, Dunkin (AKA Marie) is now one year old. This is just a little of what we
have endured while having her for just one year now. Dunkin is 1 years old today and amazingly is still with us. she has been stuck in tree's 3 different times, lost, torn plants apart, has ruined the woodwork around the door frames, been in the fridge, been stuck drawers for hours, been in the dryer, but what would I do without her? We just love her!! And now we are on to year two......

Molly (fka Blackie) |
June 10, 2011 Hi Second Chance, I changed Blacky's name to Molly, and she is doing very well. Molly loves looking out the sliding door in the living room. When sun is coming through the door, she lays in front of it and her black fur gets so warm! We had to take care of a basal cell tumor that was on her neck, but she is okay now. Molly is such a friendly cat. It makes me smile and feel so good when she greets me when I come home. Molly warmed up to my Dad when I took her home for Spring Break. Even though he is not really a cat person, he really enjoyed played with her! Thank you.
