Regular Hours

Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Wednesday 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Thursday 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Or By Appointment.

Walk-ins are welcome.
However, we do not do same day adoptions
unless you have an approved application on file.
We also do not accept surrenders on a walk in basis.
Please call in advance to schedule an appointment to surrender your pet.

From the Mass Pike/I-90: Exit 9 off of the Mass Pike to Route 20 East. Left onto Route 49/Podunk Pike towards Spencer. Follow 4.5 miles. Make left on Adams Street and immediate right onto Howe Street. Follow 2.2 miles and make a right onto Young Road. Shelter driveway is second on left.

Traveling Route 20 Eastbound: Left onto Route 49/Podunk Pike towards Spencer. Follow 4.5 miles. Make left on Adams Street and immediate right onto Howe Street. Follow 2.2 miles and make a right onto Young Road. Shelter driveway is second on left.

Traveling Route 20 Westbound: Right onto Route 49/Podunk Pike towards Spencer. Follow 4.5 miles. Make left on Adams Street and immediate right onto Howe Street. Follow 2.2 miles and make a right onto Young Road. Shelter driveway is second on left.

Traveling Route 9 Eastbound: Right onto Pleasant Street across from Lamoreaux Ford. Come to stop sign. Take left and bear left at fork onto Howe. First left onto Young Road. Shelter driveway is second on left.

OUR MISSION

TO provide temporary shelter to stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals for the purpose of finding permanent suitable new homes.
TO provide assistance and information to others whose purposes are consistent with the purpose of Second Chance Animal Shelter, Inc.
TO provide assistance and financial aid to prevent overpopulation through spaying and neutering programs.


OUR VISION

Second Chance will be a model shelter, addressing the issue of pet over-population by providing solutions through services and prevention through education. We will be the exemplary shelter for Central Massachusetts by executing exceptional business and service practices and providing a revolutionary model for the pet and shelter industry.
