Make a Dog’s Day
Active registered volunteers* who have completed dog care training at the Adoption Center are invited to take a dog out for a field trip through our Dog’s Day Out Program. Everyone needs a day off, shelter dogs included! This program is designed to get them out of the kennel environment and into the real world, providing enrichment and giving them the opportunity to meet more potential adopters. It gives you the chance to get some dog time, even if you don’t have a dog of your own.
Dogs can be picked up Monday through Saturday beginning at 10 AM. You should plan to spend at least two hours on your field trip and return no later than 4 pm on Fridays and 5 pm the rest of the week. (Sorry, no field trips on Sundays.) We’ll set you up with everything you need for your adventure, including a list of dog friendly businesses to visit. Please remember to bring a valid ID with your current address to participate.
