Second Chance is expanding access to affordable, full-service veterinary care with a new Westfield hospital serving families throughout the greater Springfield region.

We’re building on our success bringing full-service veterinary care to the Springfield area with a new Community Veterinary Hospital in Westfield. Opening Wednesday, November 11, our new location will make comprehensive, affordable veterinary care more accessible to families throughout the region, including Chicopee, Holyoke, and Westfield.

Our new hospital will be located inside PetSmart at 273B East Main Street in Westgate Plaza, with convenient parking and access to PVTA Route R10.

Our current Springfield hospital will remain open through Friday, November 6. We will be closed November 9 and 10 to accommodate the move and will reopen in Westfield on Wednesday, November 11.

Building on Our Work in the Springfield Region

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished by bringing full-service veterinary care to the Springfield area. We remain committed to our mission of making veterinary care accessible to the families who need it. This move is about building on that success and reaching even more pets and people.

Westfield offers a convenient location, ample parking, and access to nearby communities and transportation. We’re excited about this next chapter and look forward to expanding access to care into even more areas.

The Same Full-Service Veterinary Care

Our Westfield Community Veterinary Hospital will offer the same full-service veterinary care available at our other community veterinary hospitals, including:

  • Wellness exams and sick visits
  • Vaccinations
  • Spay and neuter procedures
  • Dental care
  • Surgery, including orthopedic procedures
  • Diagnostic services, including X-rays and ultrasound

We provide high-quality veterinary care at accessible rates, with additional discounts for qualifying families. Our goal is to help families access the veterinary services their pets need to stay healthy.

For clients traveling by public transportation, PVTA Route R10 offers another option for getting to appointments. Pets may travel aboard PVTA vehicles and use PVTA facilities when secured in fully enclosed carriers.

Looking Ahead in Westfield

PetSmart and PetSmart Charities have been longtime supporters of our mission to improve access to veterinary care. Our new location also creates an opportunity to expand cat adoptions inside the Westfield PetSmart store in the near future. Our immediate priority is ensuring a smooth transition for our veterinary clients and their pets.

We operate four Community Veterinary Hospitals in Massachusetts. Along with our adoption services and community programs, our hospitals help us remove barriers to care, keep pets healthy, and help families stay together.
